Letter of Recommendation
• 推薦信是寫給單位，學校等介紹或說明應聘或求學人 員情況的信件。它從第三方的角度向用人單位或?qū)W校 提供有關當事人的必要信息或推薦意見，推薦信一般 包括以下內(nèi)容：
• 1. 應聘者的姓名，個人素質(zhì)，工作態(tài)度和學習成績; • 2. 與推薦人之間的.關系，相識時間及相知的程度 • 3. 推薦人態(tài)度明確地支持接受應聘者。
• 推薦信最主要的兩點是： • 1.推薦人(referee/reference)要有一 定的聲望和地位， • 2. 信的內(nèi)容要突出被推薦人的優(yōu)點或 特長。 • 開頭的稱呼可以泛泛的用To Whom It May Concern，不涉及具體的人或 單位。

• 在推薦信的開頭，常用以下詞語和句子來表達“樂 意推薦到。。貴處。。”之意。 • I have much pleasure in recommending Mr. X to you. • I am happy to have the opportunity to recommend Mr. X to you for… • I am writing this letter of recommendation at the request of Mr.…
推薦信中常用詞語及表達方式
• 在推薦信中可以用一些褒義詞來描述被推薦人，
• • • • 例如： 描述能力可以用capable, talented, outstanding, competent, ambitious; 描述工作勤奮可以用diligent, industrious, hardworking; 描述品行可以用cheerful, honest, helpful, kind-hearted, generous, devoted, faithful, persistent, humorous, creative, inventive, etc.
推薦信中常用詞語及表達方式
• 在推薦信的結尾，常用以下句子表達“本人愿 意鄭重推薦或證明XXX能勝任XXX，懇請考 慮或試用為盼”之意。 • 1. I should appreciate it very much if you would consider her candidacy favorably. • 2. I sincerely hope you will give him favorable consideration. • I hope you will give this recommendation your best consideration.
