學習商務英語(BEC)的好習慣：要會即學即用

　　1、發現不錯的表達

　　2、創造環境使用這個表達

　　稍微初級一點的方式就是在別人說完一句話后，開始用這個表達，比如通常情況下，我們說燈光昏暗，可能會用到there is not enough light around或者it is dark right here。但是偶爾聽到一個人用到了非常地道的表達，如the light is dim。總覺得和我們平日的習慣不同，于是便開始找機會用出去。在那個人說完the light is dim之后，馬上說一句definitely, the light is always dim here. 當然，也可以趁機問問旁邊的人do you think the light is dim here? 這樣一個表達，在你的耳中聽到了一次，口中重復了兩次，加工的過程是在你的心中進行的重復，自然應該能夠記牢的。重復次數足夠多，自然就記住了。

　　有的東西念念不忘，卻不經意間忘記了，因為你重復的是“不要忘”，卻忘記了不應該忘記的內容，我們熟悉的是I have a dream，卻忘記了后面dream的內容，因為我們每次重復的都是I have a dream，至于每個具體的dream是什么，卻很少有人反復研讀。同理，有很多東西很想刻意讓自己忘掉，卻怎么都忘不掉。最經典的例子是韓劇，一個女人好不容易看上一個男的，男的又喜歡另外一個女的，好不容易糾結了幾十集，這個女生情感有了歸屬，后來發現對方要么和她是兄妹，要么是姐弟，要么是戀人，但是會經歷車禍，要么就是失意，要么就是血癌，于是她總會躲在被子里面哭，說：“我一定要忘掉xx，我一定要忘掉xx，我一定要忘掉xx”然后把被子一掀，痛哭：“哎，怎么就是忘不掉呢?”我在旁邊竊竊地說：“都重復了說三遍了，還忘得掉么?”

　　道理其實人人都懂，但是同學們雜念太多，總是不能放下思想包袱，輕松上陣，比如同學們都覺得Important可以換成significant，這樣顯得有學問有文化，畢竟前一個是初中詞匯，后一個是大學詞匯，于是在英語角就會出現這樣一幕，自己說某某很重要，用了important，然后開始罵自己：“怎么那么腦殘呢，居然用important，important是初中詞匯啊，還有一個比important還重要的詞匯叫做significant啊，哎，我怎么想不到呢，居然還要用important……”如此循環往復，發現里面important出現四次，significant出現一次，拋開原來important在我們生活中出現次數肯定比significant多這個事實，能夠留下深刻印象的還是important。而且下次還會本能反應important，然后還會以更加嚴苛的調調罵自己，直到氣到冒煙，自焚為止。

　　最好的辦法就是在聽到別人用significant這類詞的時候，開始不斷的創造環境重復這個詞，讓自己強化，比如對方說it is significant to receive higher education. 我們可以像剛才一樣同意他的觀點，說it is definitely significant to receive higher education. 也可以不贊同的他的觀點，說it is definitely significant to receive higher education but it would be more significant to let people know the significance of high-learning. 然后講出自己觀點和理由，接著問旁邊的人說both of us agree that it is significant to receive higher education and I am wondering what might be the most significant thing we need to do to let people know the significance of this mission? 這樣又可以再不斷重復，走到另外一組可以再復述剛才討論過的話題，用到剛才用過的你的和組里面所有人的語言習慣。效果絕佳。唯一一點是要注意，老外說話的時候不會把一個詞重復那么多次，所以可以適當有一些變化，如果做不出變化，那就適當給自己一點時間思考下面一句話怎么構思，在別人說話的時候傾聽，然后表達。當然，順便說一下，有人在糾結用important, critical, significant, vital, crucial, essential, fundamental等中的哪個比較好，其實外國人不會因為你用了其中一個就會判定你的語言程度達到了某個水平，這些詞每個都有“重要”的意思，卻在特定環境下都有獨一無二的屬性，如果你想研究，可以參看近義詞詞典，如果沒工夫研究，又想練出去，最簡單的方法就是用一系列結構，能夠盡量多的涌出這些詞，比如我常用的A, B, or even C結構，可以說 it is important, critical or even highly essential to receive higher education, as far as…is specifically concerned. 只要層次是在不斷提升，或者表達有所遞進的話，就可以一舉兩得，既可以表達內容，又可以不斷打造自己的語言習慣。

　　當每一個動作都已經練習到位的時候，我們需要進一步的努力，畢竟一招一式肯定抵不過組合的招數，所以我們可以來看一個在英語角的例子，看看雙方是怎么利用這個方法來相互學習的，紅色部分是需要學習的語言點, 藍色的部分是學會并應用出來的語言點。

　　A: Let’s touch upon environmental issues.

　　B: Practically, every environmental problem we have can be traced to our addiction to fossil fuels, primarily oil.

　　A: Practically, the use of energy and resources, primarily oil, can be traced to our daily life. Specifically, to keep a lamp burning we have to keep putting oil in it, not to mention other human activities related to industries.

　　B: Exactly, but the price we pay for our addiction related to energy has already been too high.

　　A: Ispet seems that we can not live without consuming energy and resources and this sort of mentality has gradually become a habit which we can hardly escape; that is basically when addiction happens. In a consumer society there are inevitably two kinds of slaves: the prisoners of addiction and the prisoners of envy. Specifically, the book can produce an addiction as fierce as heroin or nicotine, forcing us to spend much of our lives on it, not to mention those energies.

　　B: True. If we think outside the box, there are a lot of things that can be done without our being addicted to. Prayer does not use up artificial energy, doesn't burn up any fossil fuel, doesn't pollute. Neither does song, neither does love, neither does the dance.

　　A: But these activities should inevitably be based on human survival and living standard improvement; that is basically when a large amount of energy consumption becomes a must but there are still other ways out to prevent over-consumption and environmental problems.
