　　嫦娥奔月(chang'e Flying to the Moon)是中國古代的美麗傳說。嫦娥是英雄人物后羿的妻子。在中國，嫦娥意味著月亮。源自對嫦娥的聯想，中華民族對月亮有著特殊的情感，這甚至影響了中國的方方面面。了解嫦娥的遭遇后，人們在月下設香案(incense burner table),祈求嫦娥幸運、平安。因此，中秋節拜月亮的習俗在民間非常流行。后來人們還創作了其他與月亮有關的傳說，如吳剛伐樹、玉兔搗藥。另外人們也喜歡在月餅上刻上這些故事的有趣圖案。
