　　隨著改革開放大潮的到來和經濟全球化的迅猛發展，英語作為全球通用的貿易語言在日常貿易活動中發揮著至關重要的作用，市場對于口譯人員的需要日益增多，而對口譯的要求也越來越高。在日常商務談判和商務交流中，由于涉及到資金和交易量問題，數字在口譯活動中不可避免。但是由于中英雙方在數字計量方法上不同，要在極短的時間內翻譯一些繁瑣的數字對于口譯人員來說是極具挑戰的一項工作。因此，對于英語數字口譯必須掌握一定的規律和技巧，才能確保數字口譯的準確性和及時性。

　　一、中英數字表達方式的區別

　　(一)中英數字位數表達的區別

　　中文和英文在數字的位數表達上有著各自獨立的表達方式。中文數字的表達單位按由小到大的順序依次為“個、十、百、千、萬、十萬、百萬、千萬、億、十億、百億…….”，都是以十的倍數來表達。而在英語的數字表達方式上，十是“ten”，百是“hundred”，千是“thousand”，百萬是“million”，十億是“billion”，英語是以三位數作為一個計量單位，對于其他數位的數字，都是以這幾個基本單位為基礎進行計數。例如在中文中有萬這個單位，英語中則是以千的倍數來表達萬，如“六萬”在英語中為“六十個千”，即“six thousand”。另外，在數字口譯中還必須注意美式英語與英式英語的區別，其主要區別就在“十億”這個數字上，比如50億，在美式英語中為“five billion”，而在英式英語中卻是“five thousand million”，即英式英語通過“thousand million”來表達“billion”。因此，要想成為一名合格的口譯員，還必須掌握英式英語與美式英語在表達方式上的一些區別，這樣才能避免口譯過程中的失誤。

　　(二)中英數字計量單位上的區別

　　中國由于歷史原因，其部分計量單位與國外有著很大的區別，比如常用的兩、斤、尺等等，這些單位表達方式在英語中則不可能出現，英語數字單位主要有gram(克)、kilogram(千克)、ounce(盎司)、inch(英尺)等等。這些數字單位不僅僅在表達上不同，必須通過一定的轉換才能等價看待，比如one kilogram(1千克)等同于國內的2斤，one inch(1英尺)等同于國內的0.9144尺。翻譯人員在翻譯過程中不僅要懂得這些單位的表達，還要懂得單位的轉換。

　　(三)中英倍數與分數表達的區別

　　在數字口譯中，倍數和分數也是口譯員經常回遇到的表達方式，這就要求口譯人員不僅能翻譯出表面的數字，還必須準確表達出倍數或分數的關系。

　　在中英倍數的表達上，中文常用的表達方式為“A是B的X倍”或“A比B大X倍”，這兩種表達方式在中文完全不同，“A是B的X倍”表示A=X*B，“A比B大X倍”則表示A=(X+1)*B。而在英文倍數表達方式中，對上述中文倍數的兩種表達方式的意思卻相同，即“A is X times as large as B”，也可表示“A is X times larger than B”。

　　在分數的表達上，基本表達方式較為簡單，比如：1/5 one fivth，5/7 five sevenths等。而當面對“X times less than”這樣的表達方式時，則將其翻譯成分數表達方式更為恰當，比如“A is four times less than B”即為“A比B小3/4”。

　　二、中英數字口譯的方法和技巧

　　由于數字本身不具備規律性很難記憶，因此在口譯過程中，要借助一些方法和技巧才能保證口譯工作的高效性。

　　(一)長數字的翻譯

　　長數字是口譯員比較頭疼的部分，對于比較整齊的長數字(即零碎數字比較少的數字)，并牢記下表的公式即可提高翻譯的速度，當然，在記住這些數字的基礎上必須多加練習才能保證運用自如。

　　如果將要翻譯的長數字較大或者較為復雜，就要記住“三位一逗”的原則，使用標記法對數字作三位標記。如3375983216，先標記然后按以下單位讀出：

　　對于此類數字口譯的另一個方法就是數軸法：首先在記錄紙上畫一條橫線，然后再在橫線上畫幾條豎線并加以標記，具體如圖所示：

　　這樣，在口譯時，聽到數字后迅速填入對應的位置，然后再翻譯，既快捷又準確。

　　(二)模糊表達策略

　　在口譯活動中，有些時候數字只是發言人用來說明情況而采取的手段，這個時候數字固然重要但必須將整體的語境信息表示清楚。特別是在沒聽清數字的時候，將整體語境的信息表達清楚就成為了救命稻草，可以依據整句的內容猜測數字的趨勢，并用適合的詞語表達出來。例如在口譯“公司這個月的利潤相對上季度增長了22.8%”時，當沒聽清楚全數字時可以譯為“公司這個月利潤相對上個季度增長了百分之二十多”，在沒記下數字時則可譯為“公司這個月利潤大幅度上升”。下面為數字相關趨勢用詞匯總：

　　(1)表示增加、上升的詞匯：grow、climb、rise、go up、increase、jump、rocket、soar、gain、surge、shoot up、spiral。其中，spiral表示急劇增加，一般用來表示負面或消極的意思。

　　(2)表示減少，下降的詞匯：come down、decrease、fall、drop、decline、cut down、sink。

　　(3)表示到達的詞匯：be、add up to、number、amount to、total、equal。

　　(4)籠統數字表達方式：幾個 some、a few，several;十幾個 more than a dozen，over a dozen;幾十個 dozens of;好幾百個 hundreds of;成千上萬 thousand of;數以百萬 millions of。

　　但是，口譯人員必須要注意使用模糊策略的時候，要把握好度，不要扭曲原文的意思。

　　總之，口譯是機具挑戰性的一份工作，而數字口譯又是口譯工作中的一個重點和難點，掌握好口語的方法和技巧，能夠很好的提高翻譯精準度。
